Though the report suggest that growth will decline for paid search from 15.9% in 2009 to 11.3% in 2011 while SEO growth will jump from 17.7% to 20.3%, as business owners and marketing industry started recognizing the importance of website optimization and online adversing the budget investment in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Search Advertising will also increase tremendously in spite of the economic melt down. Search Marketing has shown enormous growth in terms of investment from marketers and business owners which shows 18.6% in 2009 and 24.9% in 2013.

A few years ago, only few sites optimized with SEO strategies and enjoyed good ranking. This made it each for anyone with little amount of SEO knowledge to optimize their website and compete well enough within the required niche. Now the tactics have open up and insertion of keywords in meta keyword tag, alt tag will not do any wonder thus marketers and business owners are ready to invest a certain amount in SEO / Paid advertising.

Deploying both the tactics together will help gain more traffic and conversions. Each has its own benefit. Paid search has immediate effect but advertisers need to spend consistently for the ads to appear in search pages. Where as the organic results will take time and business / website owners need to monitor the website maintenance to sustain the result they have achieved and they need to work continuously to secure the position they have got.
